I grew up reading comic books, reading the words that arranged in word bubbles that appear above the illustrated heroes.  Heroes like The Flash, Green Hornet, Batman and Robin and all the heroes that ever been created have their own spot on my book shelf along their action figures and collectable items which make me think perhaps I can be a hero like them one day.

I do not possess any superpowers, I cannot fly or have x-ray vision to see through things, I am just an ordinary person who hope to be a ‘powerless’ hero who one day can be considered as an extraordinary person that could bring changes to the world. Nothing is easy in this world; there are always obstacles that try to stop us from chasing what we desire and wants but that would not stop me from chasing my dream of becoming a person that I want to be, an average person who can bring wonders.

Life does not bring promising future if we do not put on effort to have a good life ahead, we will face failures and critics from people, and we make mistakes so we can learn from them. I want to be a person who will get up when I fall, who would never give up when it comes to failure and stand tall when waves of challenges try to pull me along the tide. I want to be a risk taker because we will never know until we try.

Thomas Alva Edison made 999 trials to make a light bulb which create the revolution of light before fluorescent light were even existed, he continued his effort until the 1000th trial that brought him a huge success. Imagine if he gave up early after several of trials, we might still be living in darkness and holding on candles for the source of light. Michael Jordan, the famous American basketball player for National Basketball Association (NBA) once was removed from his high school basketball team, several years later he prove himself worthy for his college basketball tryouts by doing a thousand shoots a day and trained himself rigorously, his passion and his spirit led him to become a champion and won every basketball match he ever competed that made him later become one of the most legendary basketball player.

Miracles can only happen for those who believe in themselves and work hard to follow their dreams. We are bound by the law of ups and downs, sometimes we are on the top and sometimes we lay low on the ground, failing is a part of learning process. I want to be the kind of person who says “I can” instead of “I can’t”. I want to be the kind of person who is never scared receiving critics because I know what does not kill me makes me stronger. I want to be the person who is bold and brave to make changes to the world, and that is a kind of person I want to be.
